Above 5% exact-match commercial anchor text is the #1 signal in Penguin-style spam filtering. We have seen sites lose 60-90% of organic traffic from anchor profiles that pushed past 10% exact-match. There is no upside; only risk.
Editorial backlinks naturally produce mostly branded and partial-match anchors. If your distribution is healthy organically, you do not need to engineer anything. If it is not, the right fix is more editorial outreach, not synthetic anchor manipulation.
